As we approach the last summer bank holiday of 2025, I find myself reflecting on what an eventful year it has already been (and there are still four months left to go!). On a personal note, we welcomed our first child this year — a milestone that has brought endless joy (and sleepless nights). On a professional note, I finally decided to pursue what I truly love: capturing people’s real emotions through photography.
This summer has been wonderfully busy, filled with a wide variety of shoots. From a last-minute shop opening to a popular food truck looking for fresh social media content, from a book launch to Cambridge engagement photography sessions and family portraits — each project has been unique and fulfilling. I feel fortunate to have landed on something that I can keep doing without ever feeling tired of it.
One highlight was a recent shoot inside Cambridge University colleges. Every corner of this city reminds me what a special place Cambridge is. Each college has its own character and centuries of history, providing stunning backdrops for portraits and storytelling. Being able to photograph people’s milestones in such settings is both a challenge and a privilege.
Looking ahead, I’m especially excited for an upcoming christening photography session inside a college chapel. Photographing in a chapel’s low light is not without challenges, but I welcome them. I’ve always believed that the best way to grow is to step outside your comfort zone — that’s when true creativity comes alive.
As summer draws to a close, I feel grateful — for the trust my clients have placed in me, for the opportunities that keep coming, and for the chance to do what I love every day.
Here’s to the rest of 2025, and to many more moments — from family portraits to weddings, engagements, and christenings — captured and remembered in the beautiful city of Cambridge.
